Event on 14 June

On Sunday, 14 June, we will meet in Bern as part of the decentralised Feminist Strike Day. Together with the Kurdish Jewish Alliance, we want to use the city walk to raise awareness about sexualised violence and create space for conversations.

What does the petition say?

Sexualized violence is not a "side effect" of war.

It is a deliberately-employed means of destruction, humiliation, and attrition.

Switzerland, as the depositary state of the Geneva Conventions, bears a special responsibility.

Four clear demands to the Swiss Federal Council:

1. Implementation of UN Resolution 1325 – binding and measurable

Transparency, reporting obligations, clear objectives

2. Consistently hold perpetrators accountable

Cooperation with the International Criminal Court in The Hague, sanctions, universal jurisdiction, asset freezing

3. Mandatory support for survivors

Designated funds, trauma care, protection programs

4. Consistent diplomatic stance without double standards

Public condemnation – regardless of who is the perpetrator, consistent voting.

Good to know.

As early as 2024, we submitted a petition with over 6000 signatures to the Swiss Federal Council.

2024: Focus on solidarity with victims and global cooperation against sexualized violence.

2026: Focus on the legal accountability of perpetrators, concrete state obligations, measurability and universal application of humanitarian law.

1

Humanity

We stand together – across political, cultural and religious boundaries. Our common ground is the recognition of every human being’s dignity.

Our values

2

Universalism

Sexualized violence as a weapon of war is a war crime. Always. Everywhere. Without exception. Without relativization. Without political selectivity.

3

Solidarity

We stand with all those affected by sexualized violence – especially women, girls, FLINTA people and those who are particularly vulnerable because of their gender, identity or circumstances.

4

Respect

We believe in empathetic listening and respectful dialogue – even when we do not share the same views. We reject hatred and every form of dehumanization.

Who is behind the petition?
